Digitalisation that arrives on the shop floor.

Digital tools only pay off once they make decisions faster and processes steadier. We start where transparency is missing, effort accumulates and knowledge hangs on individuals — and carry the delivery through into operations.

Schema eines Regelkreises: Maschine, Daten, Entscheidung und Eingriff als geschlossener Kreis.
The control loop on the shop floor. The machine supplies data, the data becomes a decision, the decision becomes an intervention on the line. Digitalisation only works once that loop is closed.

Scope of work

  • Digitalisation and data maturity check along the value chain
  • ERP and MES integration from the process side: requirements, master data, interfaces
  • Management dashboards for result, on-time delivery, utilisation and quality
  • Automating recurring workflows in order processing, planning and reporting
  • Assessing and prioritising AI use cases, and piloting them in operations
  • Knowledge retention: structuring experience, documenting it, making it findable
  • Anchoring data quality and master data care as a standing management task
  • Selecting and steering system partners and IT service providers
  • Enabling managers and key users during live operations

We at Röhrig Industrie Consulting treat digitalisation as a management and process subject, not an IT project. We do not sell pure IT or AI consulting, and we do not sell software. Where a process did not work before, no system will fix it. So the starting point is not the system landscape but the decision situation: which figure does the board look at on Monday, and how long does it take before it can be relied on? From that follows which data is needed, where ERP and MES have to mesh, and which reports can be dropped entirely.

On that basis we automate what costs time daily — order creation, confirmations, planning runs, recurring reports. AI is held to the same standard as any investment: assessed on effect, data situation, effort and risk; started as a tightly scoped pilot; rolled out only once the benefit is measurable. Delivery happens in the line, together with plant management, work preparation, controlling and IT — and where useful with our partners Siemens, CONTACT Software, Lead Automation and Ignite Group.

Typical mandates

Missing transparency
Figures arrive weeks late and contradict each other between ERP, Excel and the shop floor report. We unify the data basis and build a dashboard showing result, on-time delivery and utilisation as of today.
A stalled rollout
An ERP or MES project has run for months without the process changing. We clarify requirements, master data and interfaces from the process side and bring the rollout into productive operation with clear steering.
AI without effect
There are ideas and vendors, but no use case that holds. We assess the initiatives on data situation and effect, set up a pilot, and decide on the rollout from measurable results.
Knowledge tied to people
Critical workflows exist only in the heads of long-serving staff. We capture that knowledge in a structured way, place it in the systems and make it usable for onboarding and cover.
